February 8, 2000 - 3 Doors Down and Kryptonite
Two weeks after my last release a new band briefly joins my library when 3 Doors Down released their debut album "The Better Life" on February 8, 2000. But who are 3 Doors Down? They are a four-piece alternative rock band from Escatawpa, Mississippi consisting of Todd Harrell (bass), Chris Henderson (guitars), Matt Roberts (guitars) and Brad Arnold (lead vocals, drums). I only have one song by 3 Doors Down, but it is a really famous one that became a radio staple, "Kryptonite". It starts with a smooth and pretty catchy guitar riff and Arnold sounds decent enough singing the verse. After the first verse the rest of the band joins in to complete the main riff and after another verse we reach the very catchy, sing-along chorus and it's very easy to see why this became so popular and is still a radio staple to this day. After another round we hear a guitar "solo", but it's very tame and a little dull honestly. They predictably ham out the ending and while I don't love this song, or 3 Doors Down by any means, it's still decent and a worthy addition to the library.
