June 20, 2000 - SR-71 and Right Now

On the same day as my last release a new band briefly joins my library when SR-71 released their debut album "Now You See Inside" on June 20, 2000. But who are SR-71? They are a four-piece pop-rock band from Baltimore, Maryland consisting of drummer Dan Garvin, bassist Jeff Reid, lead guitarist Mark Beauchemin and lead singer/rhythm guitarist Mitch Allan. I am not a fan of SR-71 at all really, but they do have one song that I like, the hit single off this album "Right Now". It's driven by a pretty catchy main guitar riff by Beauchemin and Allan sings a typical pop-punk verse that fits the mood pretty well. The chorus is even more catchy and once you know it, it's hard not to sing along. There's even a cool little guitar solo midway through, and then they predictably wrap things up. It's my only song by SR-71, but it was a catchy and memorable one for sure!
