November 2, 1967 - Cream and Sunshine Of Your Love

A few months down the road, on November 2nd, 1967, the British rock band Cream released their second album, "Disraeli Gears". It contains the only song I have by Cream in my library, the huge hit "Sunshine Of Your Love". But who is Cream? They were a 3-piece rock band from London, England consisting of drummer Ginger Baker, bassist and lead singer Jack Bruce and guitarist Eric Clapton. "Sunshine Of Your Love" would go on to become a mega hit in 1968 and helped propel Cream into superstardom. The song is driven by a very catchy bass line and it's slow tempo and simple lyrics made it a fun and relatable song. I'm not a huge Clapton or Cream fan, but this song is a classic and you can't help but sing along once it's instantly recognizable riff starts the song. We may have had to wait "a few months" for some new music, but I have a feeling there's some familiar voices waiting just around the corner...
